Salary:  £30,395 to £39,609 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Are you enthusiastic about helping researchers and students to find the materials they need to further their studies and have an interest in supporting researchers in making their papers openly available? Are you knowledgeable about current metadata standards and familiar with open access publishing requirements? Do you have excellent communication and IT skills and experience of staff management? Would you like to join a team delivering innovation in library discovery systems as part of a university-wide digital futures programme?

We have a great opportunity for a Librarian to lead innovation in the creation, application and sharing of bibliographic metadata to support discovery services at the University of Nottingham ensuring that the academic community has ready access to the Libraries annual investment of c. £6m in library resources. You will line manage staff within the University of Nottingham Libraries Metadata and Open Access Management Team as part of the Content and Discovery Section within the University of Nottingham and will also liaise with equivalent colleagues at our campuses in China and Malaysia.

You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining new standards in the use of metadata to ensure effective retrieval of a wide range of material in different formats. Additionally you will facilitate access to locally created material managed through our text and data repositories.
