Join a unique British University in China. University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) was the first Sino-foreign university to open its doors in China. Located in Ningbo, this award winning campus offering a UK style education has grown to establish a student body of over 7,000 in just 13 years.


As a key component of UNNC, NUBS China is also an integral part of the Nottingham University Business School awarding the same internationally recognized degrees offered by Nottingham in the UK. In operation for just over 10 years, NUBS China currently has approximately 2,800 students of which about 400 are enrolled in postgraduate programmes including a Ph.D. programme. It has a rapidly expanding international faculty of about 90, all based in Ningbo China and coming from 27 countries or so. The school is EQUIS accredited and is part of a university that is highly rated and is seeking to improve further its ranking among the world’s top research and teaching universities. NUBS China focuses its efforts around the three "I"s-International, Innovative, and Interactive. Since 2011, NUBS China has rapidly progressed towards an increasing focus on high impact research, customized executive education, and high quality teaching.


Information system has been a key area at NUBS China in terms of research, teaching and student services. The Nottingham-Ningbo Incubator Centre has recently been established to serve as a strategic platform to promote research and practices in information system and innovation at the local, national and international levels.


Candidates must have a PhD or be very close to completion of his/her PhD in a relevant discipline. Excellent English communication skills are essential together with strong teaching abilities. Candidates are also expected to have demonstrated an ability to conduct high-quality research with the evidence such as publications in ABS level 3 and above journals. 


The successful candidate will be expected to deliver lectures and seminars across all years of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; to supervise undergraduate, master’s and potentially doctoral dissertations. In addition, there are excellent opportunities for research, and the person appointed will be expected to develop their own research activities and to contribute to the research activities of the School. NUBS China provides a competitive research support package for candidates showing good research output.


Salary will be within the range of £35,550 - £47,722 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.


The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of up to 5 years starting on 1 August 2018. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
