            <p id="isPasted"><strong>INTERNAL VACANCY</strong></p><p><strong>This vacancy is open to employees of the University of Nottingham only.</strong></p><p id="isPasted">Applications are invited for the above post based in the University of Nottingham Research &amp; Innovation (R&amp;I) department, Nottingham. The University of Nottingham is a research-driven institution with a leading international profile. Research &amp; Innovation provides support, advice and guidance to the University&rsquo;s research community. It also facilitates interaction between academics, research sponsors, and with business, regional and wider communities.</p><p>The post holder will work as part of a busy team providing&nbsp;effective and efficient research admin support for externally funded research through the delivery of high quality post award management services across the University. The role holder will operate as a financial business partner, working closely with other professional service teams and school/faculty research administrative support as well as directly with academics and other internal and external Could stakeholders, to ensure robust and effective financial management of our research and research related portfolio.&nbsp;The post sits within the R&amp;I Post Award team, within Research Operations, part of Research &amp; Innovation.</p><p>The successful candidate should be CCAB qualified or have substantial equivalent experience in a comparable and relevant role, preferably in a University. &nbsp;Knowledge of terms and conditions relating to externally funded research or in a similar complex environment is essential. &nbsp;You will demonstrate pro-active and pragmatic approach to leadership and management as this position is key within a high performing and busy team, playing an active and supportive role across the team.</p><p>High levels of accounting accuracy and attention to detail are required, particularly in managing large complex projects. &nbsp;You will be able to work proactively and positively and communicate effectively explaining complex issues, in both written and oral communication, with a wide range of colleagues across the different Colleges, Schools &amp; Departments.&nbsp;</p><p>You will demonstrate a well-developed ability to influence and negotiate with senior managers and external stakeholders building strong and productive relationships with a range of different levels of stakeholders. &nbsp;You will demonstrate experience of managing risk and developing and implementing effective mitigation plans and financial controls. &nbsp;A focus on responding positively to change within a large and complex organisation and being able to consider business improvements to existing processes are essential.&nbsp;</p><p>What we offer-&nbsp;</p><ul type="disc"><li>A friendly, diverse, and supportive working environment</li><li>A hybrid working arrangement with the blended approach of home and office working each week</li><li>Generous holiday entitlement of 27 days (or pro rata) plus standard bank holidays and five university closure days including closure between Christmas and New Year.</li><li>We are committed to staff development through the provision of training, continued support, and career progression opportunities</li><li>You will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including fitness and health facilities, staff discounts, travel schemes and many more.             <p id="isPasted">The Research Governance Manager will sit within the Research Operations Risk and Compliance function and will work with the Research Governance and Compliance Manager to continue the development and implementation of the Clinical Research Governance framework as part of the University&rsquo;s overarching Research and Knowledge Exchange Risk and Compliance Framework. Working closely with operational leads, clinical trials unit, CIs and PIs, and PGRs to facilitate and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.</p><p>In conjunction with the Research Governance and Compliance Manager, the role holder will lead on Sponsor activity for clinical trials of investigational medicinal products and clinical investigations of medical devices, including providing recommendations to and acting on behalf of, where necessary, the Research Governance and Compliance Manager and the Head of Research Integrity, Governance and Compliance, mainly on the overall management of clinical research to embed consistent practices and procedures to identify, process, report, and mitigate risk, focusing on the Clinical Trials Regulations, Medical Devices Regulations and principles of GCP.</p><p>Supporting the Research Governance and Compliance Manager with adherence to Clinical Trials legislation, and other regulations applicable to clinical research governance as set by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and/or the Health Research Authority (HRA).</p><p>The role holder will have experience in providing specialist advice, guidance and training on all matters relating to research governance and regulatory compliance. Reporting to and working closely with the Research Governance and Compliance Manager on coordinating and managing the development, implementation, and awareness raising of clinical research governance policies and procedures to ensure the University&rsquo;s compliance. Lead on identifying and implementing best practice in their area to ensure that the service continues to evolve in line with the external academic research landscape.
