            <p id="isPasted"><strong>Apprentice Technician &ndash; Materials testing&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>About the role</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>As part of our annual Faculty of Engineering Apprenticeship Training Programme, we have an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Materials Testing Technical Apprenticeship to learn the skills needed to support the operational, research and teaching requirements of the materials laboratories across the Mechanical, Materials, and Manufacturing (M3) department.</p><p>This is a great chance to embark on a technical career in Engineering, and we will support your growth by enabling you to develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.</p><p>You will undertake a full time 4-year Apprenticeship with practical hands-on learning provided by the university, whilst studying for a nationally accredited Level 3 qualification as a Materials Testing Technician.</p><p>In-house training will be given by our expert team in our extensively equipped workshops/laboratories covering a broad range of standard/specialised engineering processes, instrumentation, test and measurement. You&rsquo;ll have the opportunity to learn a wide range of cutting-edge skills to enable the delivery of experiments, preparing specimens, configuring test equipment, interpreting data and assisting students during practical sessions.</p><p>Your academic training will be delivered over 20 months, via blended learning combining online and in-person sessions, with a recognised training provider. Successful completion means you will be eligible for Professional Registration and possibly the opportunity to continue your studies and achieve a higher-level qualification.</p><p>Qualifications to be undertaken will include:</p><ul id="isPasted"><li>Level 3 Apprenticeship &ndash; Materials Testing Technician</li><li>In-house practical hands-on training</li><li>Internal training courses relevant to role</li></ul><p><strong>About you</strong></p><p>You are an enthusiastic individual eager to learn new skills working within an experienced and supportive technical team, with the ability to show attention to detail and rise to the challenge this fantastic opportunity presents.&nbsp;</p><p>You should have, or be expected to achieve a minimum of one of the following:</p><ul><li>Five GCSEs grades 4 &amp; above (C &amp; above), to include Mathematics, English and a Science.</li></ul><p><strong>OR</strong></p><ul><li>BTEC level 3 in Engineering or relevant subject.</li></ul><p><strong>What we offer</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>A friendly, diverse, and supportive working environment to enable you to develop and reach your full potential whilst supporting your wellbeing.</li><li>A competitive employment package including a generous holiday entitlement of 27 days plus 8 standard bank holidays and 5 university closure days including closure between Christmas and New Year.</li><li>Access to a range of benefits and rewards, including fitness and health facilities, staff discounts, and many more.
