            <p id="isPasted"><strong>About the role</strong></p><p>We are seeking an inspiring educator in <strong>Architectural Humanities</strong> to join us on a<strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>0.2 FTE Fixed Term contract for 30 months (term‑time only)</strong>, starting <strong>1 September 2026</strong><strong>.</strong> This post provides dedicated teaching replacement within our Architecture programmes and includes <strong>regular in‑person teaching in London on Mondays</strong><strong>;&nbsp;</strong>travel from Nottingham will be covered by the University.</p><p>The role includes:&nbsp;</p><p>Lead and deliver teaching for the Thesis Research Document (final-year dissertation), supporting students in the development of a humanities-based, rigorous, and critically informed architectural research project that underpins their design thesis. Guide students in selecting and refining a focused research topic, conducting literature reviews, employing analytical drawing as a research method, analysing architectural case studies, sites, and precedents, and developing independent critical arguments. Foster students&rsquo; abilities in research, critical thinking, academic writing, and the synthesis of historical, theoretical, and architectural knowledge, ensuring that the dissertation contributes meaningfully to the broader thesis framework encompassing theory, site, programme, and case study. Provide academic supervision, formative feedback, and assessment of verbal presentations and written work in line with programme learning outcomes. The role places a strong emphasis on integrating architectural history and theory into contemporary design studio teaching, fostering contextual awareness, critical reflection, and research-led design practice, while also contributing to design studio teaching, reviews, and thesis mentoring.</p><p id="isPasted"><strong>About you</strong></p><p>You will bring expertise in architectural history, theory, and humanities‑based approaches to design, including experience teaching research methods, analytical drawing, theoretical frameworks, and critical analytical skills. You will be committed to supporting students in situating design work within wider cultural, historical and intellectual contexts, and confident contributing to a vibrant design studio environment.</p><p><strong>About the team</strong><br>You will join a collaborative and dynamic Architecture department committed to excellent teaching, research, and knowledge exchange. Working closely with the <strong>Course Director</strong> and <strong>Humanities Lead</strong><strong>,</strong> you will contribute to a vibrant scholarly community where design studio and humanities teaching are deeply integrated.             <p id="isPasted"><strong>About the role</strong></p><p>Applications are invited for a Research Fellow position within the Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham, contributing to cutting-edge research in thermal energy storage (TES) technologies for industrial decarbonisation. The project focuses on assessing the potential of thermal energy storage in enabling the low-carbon transition of dispersed industrial sites in the UK. The successful candidate will investigate technical challenges and deployment risks associated with TES integration, and develop data-driven understanding of industrial energy use and storage performance. You will be responsible for collecting and analysing energy consumption data from selected industrial sites, characterising thermal energy storage materials using experimental facilities at the University of Nottingham, and supporting system-level assessment of TES integration in collaboration with industrial and academic partners. The role offers the opportunity to work across experimental testing, data analysis, and applied energy systems modelling.</p><p><strong>About the team</strong></p><p>You will join a multidisciplinary research group within the Faculty of Engineering with expertise in building physics, thermal energy systems, and low-carbon technologies. The group has strong links with industry and international collaborators, and actively supports interdisciplinary research in energy decarbonisation.
