            <p id="isPasted">We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join Disability Support Services as a full-time Disability Adviser.</p><p>You will work alongside a team of professionals to provide a point of contact, information and support for: disabled students, students with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, mental health difficulties and students with long-term health conditions.</p><p>You will enjoy the busy and dynamic environment of the Disability Support Services team, working and collaborating with Study Support Tutors, Senior Administrator colleagues and an in-house Support Worker Service. </p><p>We welcome applications from everyone and value the varied perspectives and experiences that a diverse team can bring.   </p><p><strong> You will have:  </strong></p><p>&middot; Knowledge and understanding of a range of disabilities and their impact upon study in Higher Education </p><p>&middot; A degree, plus some hands-on experience in similar or related roles OR proven track record of extensive relevant work experience, demonstrating practical and theoretical knowledge of a specific / specialised field of work.</p><p>&middot; Effective communication and interpersonal skills.  </p><p>&middot; Good IT skills, with some knowledge of assistive technology.   </p><p>&middot; Ability to work appropriately with sensitive information, following established procedures.  </p><p>&middot; Ability to prioritise and effectively plan a busy workload, with minimum day to day supervision.  </p><p><strong>What you will do: </strong></p><p>&middot; Assess the practical requirements and study needs of students, both current and potential, in order to make recommendations concerning reasonable adjustments to Academic Schools and Departments. </p><p>&middot; Provide information and advice concerning all aspects of accessibility provision to potential students prior to their admission to University and contribute to University pre arrival information. &nbsp;</p><p>&middot; Liaise with Academic Schools to communicate adjustments and advise on complex individual cases, in consultation with role holder&rsquo;s line manager.  &nbsp;</p><p>&middot; Advise students on accessing Disabled Students&#39; Allowances.  &nbsp;</p><p>&middot; Keep careful records of actions, agreements and decisions in accordance with procedures.   &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Where and how you&rsquo;ll work:  </strong></p><p>This role is a full-time opportunity. This is where you will use your in-depth knowledge and experience to deliver exhilarating and thought-provoking learning opportunities for children, using the indoor and outdoor environment as the third teacher.
