University of Nottingham Sport is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Climbing Wall Assistants at the David Ross Sports Village.</p><p>As part of an exciting programme of investment and development, this is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering an exceptional climbing experience for a diverse community of students, staff and public members. Working within one of the UK&#39;s leading university sports environments, you will help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive space where climbers of all ages and abilities can thrive.</p><p>Whether leading NICAS Academy sessions, supporting participants to achieve their goals, or contributing to the day-to-day operation of the wall, you&#39;ll be part of a team committed to excellence, participation and personal development through climbing. If you are passionate about coaching, customer service and helping others reach new heights, we&#39;d love to hear from you.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Supervising children, young people and adults during climbing wall sessions.</li><li>Leading sessions as part of the NICAS Academy programme.</li><li>Supporting the day-to-day operation of the climbing wall as required.</li><li>Promoting a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.</li><li>Delivering excellent customer service to students, staff, alumni and public members.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>Applicants should <strong>hold</strong> the <strong>Climbing Instructor</strong> (Mountain Training, OR Similar) or be working towards assessment within the scheme.</p><p>Previous experience supporting or delivering sessions within the NICAS Scheme is <strong>essential</strong>.</p><p id="isPasted">The successful candidate will demonstrate:</p><ul><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Excellent customer service and participant engagement.</li><li>A proactive and reliable approach to work.</li><li>Good attention to detail.</li><li>A commitment to safety, inclusion and high standards of service delivery.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Available Positions</strong></p><p><strong>Post 1:</strong></p><ul class="decimal_type"><li>Permanent</li><li>7.25 hours per week</li><li>David Ross Sports Village</li><li>Saturday, 07:30&ndash;15:45</li></ul><p id="isPasted"><strong>Post 2:</strong></p><ul class="decimal_type"><li>Permanent</li><li>7.25 hours per week</li><li>David Ross Sports Village</li><li>Sunday, 07:30&ndash;15:45</li></ul><p><strong>Please indicate your preferred day when submitting your application.</strong></p><p>University of Nottingham Sport welcomes applications from candidates of all backgrounds and is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What we offer</strong></p><ul type="disc"><li>A friendly, diverse, and supportive working environment</li><li>Generous holiday entitlement of 27 days (or pro rata) plus standard bank holidays and five university closure days including closure between Christmas and New Year.</li><li>We are committed to staff development through the provision of training, continued support, and career progression opportunities</li><li>You will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including fitness and health facilities, staff discounts, travel schemes and many more.
